Overview

Social and emotional learning (SEL) is the process of acquiring the self-awareness, self-control, and interpersonal skills necessary for healthy development. Research has shown that SEL is important for enhancing student outcomes in a variety of spheres.

The Collaborative for Academic, Social, and Emotional Learning (CASEL) supports educators and policy leaders in systematically implementing SEL. However, to date, uptake of their recommendations by key stakeholders has been low.

The Challenge

CASEL approached TDL to identify the behavioral barriers to SEL implementation, and to redesign CASEL’s digital tools to more effectively and efficient reach target audiences.
